Naval ports among UK are important elements for both social and economic factors. With over 170 seaports and 7 containers ports in the UK, the excessive amount of ports emphasizes the importance of maritime travel. In contrast, there is a lack of dry docks available in Tilbury which highlights the disproportionate ratio. This project is therefore designed for the Tilbury port. The proposed site location is between the public Gray’s beach Riverside Park and the privately owned Tilbury port. This space is between the public and private realm will bring together the missing link between the town and port. Its location is strategic in which borders the two realms allowing a catalytic architecture that will bring rise to the area as well as bond the two together forming a space where the public and private can simultaneously observe, view and learn about each other.
